Jaz Denness is a senior UX designer with a strong focus on accessibility, bringing over 20 years’ experience across the public and private sectors. Based in Edinburgh, he creates clear, inclusive digital experiences that simplify complex information and improve usability and understanding at scale. He has worked with organisations including RBS, Standard Life, HBOS, and currently Audit Scotland.
At Audit Scotland, Jaz plays a key role in improving how public sector information is communicated online, making it more accessible, understandable, and user-focused through research and data-informed design. His work supports the delivery of high-profile national reports, helping ensure they are usable and accessible to a wide range of audiences.
His multidisciplinary background spans graphic and web design, branding, animation, and 3D visualisation. His portfolio includes collaborations with global brands such as Nickelodeon, Hello Kitty, and Ultimo Lingerie, where he created engaging packaging and visual assets. This experience underpins his ability to develop strong concepts and communicate complex ideas with clarity.
Jaz has delivered projects with international reach across the UK, USA, and UAE, with a consistent focus on creativity, accessibility, and user needs.
Selected achievements:
Led the design of print packaging for Edinburgh Inspiring Capital, which won “Best DVD” at the Scottish Corporate Communications Awards (CiB). He was also part of the communications team that won the CIPR PRide Awards “Public Sector Team of the Year 2017”.
